Here are some of the reasons why the HR field is critical during a recession:

HR professionals must manage this process efficiently, communicating with employees and ensuring that the company follows the laws and regulations governing layoffs. At the same time, HR must identify the essential talent that will be required for the business to remain viable and attract or retain those employees.
